Two of the strongest brands teamed up to create the ultimate commercial featuring not only Ms. Brown the M&M, but the Geico gecko and the “hump day” camel as well. The combination of recognizable characters catches viewers’ attention and creates conversation. Therefore, producing a successful ad.
I think that this concept of dual-company advertising is a commodity that is not utilized as often as it should. Brands with extremely recognizable mascots and advertising concepts should use their brand recognition to their advantage.
I saw this advertisement shared on Facebook from a fellow journalism school student stating that she believes this is the future of advertising, and I agree. There are so many brands that could work together to achiever stronger recognition. Who would’ve thought that M&M’s and Geico could make a commercial together? A candy and insurance company working hand in hand to increase brand recognition? What is this?
It’s advertising perfection. I hope that other companies will strike deals for cooperative advertising relations. I’m rooting for a matchup between the Aflac duck and Mr. Clean.
