It may seem obvious to choose love over like, but is it really that easy these days?
In an inspiring advertisement by Coca-Cola, it depicts choosing to love your own life over liking things on social media. If paying close enough attention, you will notice that there is a lack of technology throughout the entire commercial. Instead, Coke decided to choose a variety of expressive and colorful actions to display to cola fans across the world.
Coca-Cola has been on a kick lately with advertisements targeted toward social media use, like the Social Media Guard ad published last week that said it “takes the ‘social’ out of media and puts it back in your life” by putting funny-looking dog cones around people’s necks to pry them from their phones.
Why would a beverage company care so much about their consumer’s obsession with media?
It’s because they know that people react to it in a positive light. When I first watched the advertisement above, it empowered me to go and do something fun rather than sitting in my seat scrolling through Twitter or Instagram. It told me to stop simply “liking” things and start loving them.
Coca-Cola always has fresh advertisements and it helps create a strong brand image. Ranked by Forbes as the 3rd most valuable brand in the world, it shows with Coke’s dedication to stay on top of consumer lifestyle.
And that my friends is why Coca-Cola is always better than Pepsi.
